Leaving Portrush harbour, just before daybreak we will catch our breakfast in the crystal clear waters of the Causeway Coast, as the sun slowly rises over the Mull of Kintyre and Rathlin Island. Returning to port your catch will be prepared into a delicious breakfast for you to enjoy over-looking the west strand.

In collaboration with Causeway Coast Foodie Tours and Babushka in Portrush we offer a truly unique experience.

Voted #1 of 13 reason’s why foodie fans should visit NI by Metro.

Heading towards the Skerries and Dunluce Castle, you’ll sip hot tea/coffee and nibble on beautifully handmade griddle breads from Ballycastle’s Tony’s Griddle Goods. As the day breaks we’ll discuss the fascinating historical past of the area while the boat’s experienced crew teach you how to fish. With expert guidance, you’ll then fillet your catch before bringing it back to dry land to be seasoned and cooked along with a range of exquisite local ingredients for a delicious breakfast.  Alongside your catch of the day, you will enjoy a complimentary coffee tasting and a range of award-winning local ingredients to make up your magnificent morning meal.

At this time of the morning we may well encounter dolphins, basking sharks, seals etc. so don’t forget to bring along a camera.

Sunrise what a perfect way to start the day and made all the better with a trip on the ocean . We were met by Wendy our guide for the day and her friendly way and knowledge on all things local was second to none and accompanied by the crew of The Causeway Lass who were to help us with our fishing skills along with a few stories thrown in, we set off. Taking in the sites of the causeway coast by sea is a fantastic way to view this coastline and I would highly recommend doing so. We soon stopped and cast our rods and I struck silver with two fish which along with other fish caught would be served later that morning as breakfast. I don’t want to tell all from the tour as it’s an experience I would definitely recommend you try for yourself. Breakfast at Babushka following the boat trip completed this fantastic morning with a warm welcome and fabulous food served up by George. I loved it .

Went on a Catch and Sea trip this morning, which was a beautiful sunny summer morning on the North Coast! Wendy, Richard, George and Charlie were fabulous hosts, with their extensive knowledge of all things aquatic, nautical and culinary. Great attention to detail and friendly people. Would thoroughly recommend this trip if you want to do something a little bit different or to find out more about the home grown artisan food producers on our doorstep. These guys know their stuff!
